Lily Makes Second Straight Midwest Thunder Feature
Miami Valley marked the third of six Midwest Thunder races this year. This weekend, Lily continued to turn heads with her speed and constant improvement in her first year in the competitive senior classes.
Once again, Sr. Honda had over 30 cars registered for this big event. Lily started P2 in her heat race, and lead flag-to-flag for her first ever Midwest Thunder heat win in the senior classes. Her win was marked by a dramatic outside pass at the start of the race, and the fact that she held off her older brother's charge by mere inches at the finish line. In the feature, Lily started P4, only to get pinched into the wall early in the race to end her day.
After three races, Lily stands 6th overall in the Midwest Thunder Senior Honda points standings - a remarkable feat for someone who was a Red Rookie at this point last year.
We are so grateful for the support we received from the Ultimate QM team, and from Shawn Emerick at Steven Emerick Racing, who helped us get her car back together after Waterford.
Next up - Toledo Nationals!
