About

Welcome to Real Diehl Racing

This is the online home of Lily and Jackson Diehl.

About Jackson Diehl

Jackson is 12 years old and has been racing USAC .25 Midgets since he was 7. In his rookie year, Jack won over half of the features in which he raced, and was ultimately awarded the Capitol Quarter Midgets Rookie of the Year. Jackson earned the nickname "The Real Diehl" from USAC announcer Butch Lamb in his second year after sweeping the heat races at the USAC .25 Nationals at Chicagoland Speedway. Jack is currently the reigning Sr. Animal Midwest Thunder and Buckeye Winternationals Champion. He also won the MPI "Up On the Wheel" Hard Charger award at the 2020 USAC Nationals in Austin, TX, when he raced up through the lower mains to a 2nd place finish in Sr. Honda. He is also a proud recipient of the 2019 Dave Darland Sportsmanship Award.

Jack is known his smart, hard, and clean driving style. He has a knack for putting his car in a position to win races, whether or not he has the fastest car. Remarkably, he raced the entire 2020 Midwest Thunder season (over 30 races including heats and features in all classes) without going dead on the track or being called for causing a wreck during green flag racing.

Off the track, this Granger Indiana native is a straight A student who wants to study engineering in college. He runs cross country, and has competed in triathlons. He enjoys playing video games, especially racing games, with friends.

About Lily Diehl

"Tiger" Lily is 9 years old and entering her second year of racing. Lily burst onto the .25 Midget scene in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, winning several features in the Red Rookie and Blue Rookie divisions before quickly advancing to the junior classes. Lily made all three Midwest Thunder features, despite having limited racing experience at the time. Lily turned heads with a feature win in Jr. Honda at Buckeye QMA in Columbus Ohio in a packed 17 car field. Lily also made the feature in Jr. Honda at the prestigious Turkey Gobbler in Huntsville Alabama.

Lily is known for her fierce competitiveness and being silky smooth on the wheel.

Off the track, Lily is a stellar student who received the state designation of "high-ability" in both mathematics and language arts. Lily has also competed on a travel soccer team for several years. In her free time, Lily enjoys gymnastics and playing with her friends.
